Default SpeedCraft head gasket for SC?

Now that Speedcraft has a new head gasket that lowers compression, would this be a wise investment for an s2k with an SC? Does it make the engine more reliable even with the current boost level comptech uses? Or is it something that would only help when adding more boost than 6psi?

its definitely safer for the motor running at a lower compression. which means you will be able to boost more PSi with your SC. maybe even add NOS/SC into the combination. since your going to have to take the head off to put on the head gasket, might as well get better valves/springs etc..

Don't forget that their is no boost upgrade yet for the SC, so although safer and better, it would make your car slower from lower compression ratio.

Speedcraft wants to take care of that too.

How thick is the gasket and what does it reduce compression to?

I beleive that the goal was to reduce the compression to approx 10:1, I will be doing a pour test when I have the gasket installed (before and after) to determine the EXACT change in compression.

I didn't know that Speedcraft was working on a boost upgrade pulley for the SC, but that's a good idea... However that would compete with their turbo.....

To up the boost with the SC it would be really important to have some sort of cooler

No we are not working on a pully for the comptech blower.and yes the hhead gasket should lower compression about a full point.

Speedcraft, I sent you guys a Private Message on this board a few days ago. I'm assuming that you don't know how to check them, or you didn't notice the pop telling you that you had a message. Use the navigation drop down menu at the bottom of the page to go to "Private Messages", I wouldn't be surprised if many others sent you someting as well. Another way to get to it is under the link above "MyS2000", the click "Private Messaging". Double-check your preference on the site to see if it's set to alert you when you get private messages. Thanks.
