Hi craig2teg,

Yes, you're right it is an awesome car and I still love it although I've been unlucky with it but believe me, when some punk kid, pulls up beside you in a cheaper, reliable, highly souped-up car on the drag strip all you want to do is beat the pants off him and knowing that the S2K is fragile doesn't inspire confidence in taking up the challenge. I know you will probably tell me not to drag it as it is not a drag-car but , as I have said, where else can I drive it fast / hard here in Malta ? (and the moment you go there you are challenged all the time because all want to see what an S2k can do). The speed-shift might mean winning a challenge or not...but I don't want to risk breaking something in the drive-train.

Tx,
Speeddemon

if the only way to unleash your cars potential was on the drag strip and you knew that why did you buy the S...? unless you plan on building the car for drag racing you should have probably purchased a car with more power thats built for drag racing.

our car straight from the dealership is no drag car, but when it comes to the track its a beast (if you know how to drive it)... it also has the potential to be a killer on the drag strip... but not in its stock form.

use the money you saved on buying the car and build your tranny and boost the sucker.

Hi freshjuicebox ,

See my previous reply : " I now know (i.e. unfortunately, after puchasing the S2K) that it is not a drag car "

I honestly don't like drag racing. It's just we only have a drag strip here where a petrol-head can enjoy driving his performance car.

Tx just the same for your post but cannot afford any mods for now. I thought 240bhp stock meant that the car was built to take it and that mods wouldn't be required for a long time to come...not quite so.

i have a MCS (R53) with mods, and it is only as fast as a stock S2K in a straight line. That is not saying much considering the 'poor' drag times of the S2K. An Audi TT, the older one at least, even in 225 trim was/is slower than a stock S2K. The S2k is alot of fun at the drags. The only issue being the take off which takes some practice and respect.

the biggest thing is the diff. the s has a notoriously weak diff, and with enough grip at launch can cause a nice scattering of gears.

take it easy on launch and between shifts and u should be fine

This brings me to my next point. If the diff goes...since we love the car so much, wouldnt it make sense to just rebuild the diff and reinforce it and call it a day?

Get rid of the CDV
People. Please tell me that CDV doesn't stand for Clutch Delay Valve.
