Speed sensor dead , car should be drivable right ?
Hello everyone , first post here , glad to be part of this forum .
Today the CEL came on and realized that guage cluster doesnt read speed anymore , after doing search on here i understand that atleast one person has had this problem because of a LOOSE CONNECTOR ON THE VSS.
My question is : I havnt fixed it yet and this might happen again , so is the car going to be just fine driving for today with no speed reading from the transmission ?
p.s im assuming somethings will be lost like abs ?? cruise control and whatever depends on speed readings , unless if the abs reads its speed from individual wheel sensors instead
thanks

you'll be perfectly fine driving it. you are correct about ABS and it reading from each individual wheel.
but dont try to use "but officer, my speed sensor is broken. i didnt realize i was going 70 over the limit" as an excuse to get out of that speeding ticket.

Update : I drove the car with no speed reading , in about 15 min the EPS light came on and lost power steering . Once i got under the car and fixed the stupid VSS plug , the car now reads speed , and the EPS light went away once the vehicle was in motion again
