let us know how it goes.

By checking the plugs aren't you scoring the tip surface as well , just as bad as gapping ?.

Ive used NGK Iridiums for years , I always had to adjust them by hand as they have never come pre-gapped, and I've never lost any part of a plug in any cylinder. I've even run them in some turbo engines and my daily driver SUV. Unlike many people I'd like to think that I know how to properly gap a plug without damaging it.

FWIW, I run a .043" gap on my plugs which is at the top of the recommended spec. range. It was always my intention to remove, inspect, and replace the plugs on a regular basis rather than leave them in there for 100k.

My OEM factory plat. plugs had opened up to over .051" gaps at 55k miles, due to erosion of the center electrode.

I had found a place online a while ago that was under $30 for the set of them. Can't remember where though.

If we go turbo and maybe E85 on top of that, what would you recommend?

Normally they use colder plugs for FI and warmer for E85, maybe perfect to use OEM spec?

If you buy them from Honda in the red box, the gap will be .039. where it should be.

Adjusting the gap of a platinum plug will fracture the coating, it will fall into the engine, and score the cylinder.
Hi Billman, it appears that online parts stores have these spark plugs avaialbe but in a .044 gap. If it's not recommended to adjust the gaps on the platinum spark plugs would we have to buy from Honda to get the correct gap from the get-go?

I'm looking to replace my OEM plugs in the spring. Are the plugs on this page what I should be buying?
