Sparkplugs
Just finished a valve clearance inspection on my 06' with 45,000 mi. A few were about .002" out of spec in the loose direction. No big woop. Anyway ,thought I'd throw some new plugs in there while I was at it. The old ones didn't look bad at all and were within gap range. But what hell,I'll throw in a new set anyway. So,I call around parts stores looking for the recommended NGK plugs and of course noones got them in stock. So I order a set of four and the Napa guy says these plugs are 13 dollars and change each. Holy firestorm batman! What are you guys paying for these plugs? Most of the parts stores here can't even get the Nippon Denso alternate plug that is listed in the manual.

The plugs in the car are better than anything you can buy in any parts store.
If you buy the exact NGK number from auto parts, the gap will be about .030.
If you buy them from Honda in the red box, the gap will be .039. where it should be.
Adjusting the gap of a platinum plug will fracture the coating, it will fall into the engine, and score the cylinder.
NGK tailors a plug specific to the s2k, for honda, and is sold in a Honda box.

Laser platinum? I always thought the S came with denso iridium so couldnt you replace them with NGK iridiums? For my old car RSX-S I think the plugs were about 45-55 bucks for a set and they were the NGK iridiums.

Well hell,I'll have to bring my feelers with me then down to Napa tomorrow morning when these things come in. If they're not gapped to .039 or .040 then I should walk? The order guy assured me that the NGK number I listed will be printed on the plug.

Yes the number will be on the plug, and read identical.
Bring your feeler
all plugs should be CHECKED for proper gap to ensure they have not been dropped.
Then go to Honda and measure a honda plug
