I just replaced my stock plugs with Denso IK22. Set the gap at .045 and I did feel a differance at low and mid range. Paid $11.99 each and think it was worht every penny.

Here is a great tech article about how spark plugs work, written by NGK. I think it is a common misconception that "Hotter" plugs are somehow more powerfull than "Colder" plugs. In fact, the use of a colder plug may be a better performance benefit than colder thermostats and fan switches. I use the colder plugs in my car (Denso IK24), and it seems to run much more consistent regardless of temperature. Hooking up an OBD-II scan tool also shows that my ECU is allowing more timing advance than my friend's '02 with OEM plugs.
Before anyone asks, I should say that my friend's '02 has the same mods that I have, except for the spark plugs. After resetting both of our ECUs, my timing was 10% more advanced than his.
