Default Spark Plugs for SC Vortech

What spark plugs are people that have Vortech using and how much gap? I did a search and too many post came up that has nothing to do with spark plugs. Any help would be appreciated.

Some one asked the exact same question not two days ago (I think). A search is definitely in order.

Most owners with FI close the gap down a little bit. Some run 0.035, some run 0.032, some less. I'm using Denso Iridium IK22s (factory heat range) some use IK24s or IK 27s (1-2 steps colder than stock.) Copper NGK's are also popular with the change them frequently crowd.

I'm running 0.035 with 2 steps colder NGK copper [Edit: NGK 7405 R5672A-9] and we saw a misfire once in a while in the 8,000 range on the dyno once things got warmed up. Still haven't decided if I'll gap to 0.032 as I heard the stock NA misfires in this range too.

I have ran the NGK 7173's, which are 1 step colder than stock. I didn't have any misfire problems, but I have run into detonation. I just switched to NGK 7405 which are 2 steps colder. Not enough run time on the new plugs to evaluate. I have run the 7173's gapped at .30 and .35 with no difference in performance. currently gapped 7405's at .35

Just get some iridium plugs, they're expensive, but worth it. Make sure you get denso's and not ngk's, the ngks are good plugs, but the denso ones are specially made for hondas.

I run stock plugs gapped at 0.35 and have had no problems. I've checked the plugs a few times and they look perfect after a few thousand K's of mixed driving conditions. I was thinking of going to a cooler plug, but for the time being I'm quite happy.
I haven't tracked the car yet so I still might switch to a cooler plug if I get detonation under very hard usage.
I'm not sure about the various extended life plugs (iridium etc.) as long life is not a particular concern for me. I would rather check and change my plugs regulally.
