Spark Plugs not looking good (with pics)
I brought the car used and it doesnt seems to run right after a month
Today i have decided to do some valve adjustments and checked the plugs... see pics below
could anyone tell me why the tips are white, and i know they are wrong plugs for the S2K
are there anything wrong with my engine?
thanks
kevin

go to www.ngksparkplugs.com and take a look at their charts and compare. i was under the impression a white ground strap was an indication of a fine plug that had just been left in a bit long.

Other than running a tad to hot of a plug they look good with no deposits on them. I believe the heat range for the Denso plug is 22 for the "S". You can put the stock heat range plug in or go one heat range colder than stock, you want to run a plug that is hot enough to keep deposits from forming and no hotter.

those are the wrong heat range, the oem spec in Denso is 22 heat range, those are 20's. I think those are hotter plugs based on Denso heat ranges ?, either way they are the wrong heat range. Those plugs had a fair bit of leakage at the gasket evidenced by the brownish stains but that can happen to some extent with any plug , perhaps not that much.
That might explain some of the reason they are on the whitish side. I think the engine is running fine but go and get the proper plugs for the engine and slap them in. You should feel an improvement, and reset the ecu while you are at it so it can learn how much ignition advance to run with the new plugs, it may have been retarding things a bit if the old plugs were too hot.
