Need to get some spark plugs asap....which one is good? Can anyone recommend? I have tried some German Twin iridium tip plugs...they did improved the torque as they promised...but they were not that reliable at all...I only got them for 2 weeks...and they are already causing problems ...if I keep reving above 6000 rpm, they would just let me down and the CEL would just come up!....I shut the engine down and restarted...the CEL went off....then I drive around for a few mins to test it...the CEL came on again!....and this time the car wont even start up!....I tried to restart the motor for few times, finally it fired up.....why would this happen?? ......I put the std. plugs back in today..and everything works fine now...at this this stage, I think its the spark plugs problem...any advise?

Denso Iridium IK22 or IK24. There has been a lot of discussion here in the forum about plugs. Just do a search and they will show up.

I went with IK24's, I hear they will be better for my hotter climate.

The OEM plugs that came with your car is supposedly good for over 100,000 MILES. If your car works well with them, why do you need different new plugs ASAP?

Thanks for the info guys....and the reason why that I wanted to get some new plugs asap was because the spark plug dude told me that my old plugs were leaking pressure or somesh';t like that...and he reckon that they need to be replaced soon... I am not a spark plug expert...wouldnt have a clue...I didnt want to take any risk so I just bought those "German made" iridium plugs off him...I like the instant torque improvement ...but too bad they only last two weeks

Do you have an '00, '01 or '02 car? If so, you probably had the original plugs that were on a world wide recall for the new ones with stainless steel crush washers and the new torque spec. Your old plugs may have been backing out and causing the "leak". Tighten them to 18 to 20 ft/lbs till you get new plugs. This torque should keep them tight for about 2 to 3 months before they need to be checked again. The new plugs with the new torque spec will hold.
