Default Spark Plugs? Anyone tried the Denson IR

As a general rule,I change my plugs every 15k.

As anyone used the Denson IR?

If so,where did you buy? Is it the IK16?

Also, who makes good replacement plug wires? MSD?

Thanks

1st, the S2000 OEM plugs are good for a very long time. They're platinum and you shouldn't really need to change them for at least 50,000 miles (maybe even 100,000 miles).
2nd, there is no such thing as "Denson IR". I think you are referring to Denso Iridium plugs.
You can buy them from sparkplugs.com. The ones that are a direct replacement for our OEM plugs is IK-22, but many run one step cooler IK-24.
Lastly, we don't have plug wires.

Don't bother. Unless your plugs are shot now or you're modded to a point where you need colder plugs keep your money in your wallet. Or give it to me.

I've just checked the Helm manual. The OEM plugs are supposedly good for 105,000 miles or 7 years. With an '03 car, why are you in such a hurry to change them?

Iridium makes more power.

the S2000 has a coil at each plug, thus it does NOT need high voltage wires like many other cars. The wires leading to each plug are low voltage...I don't think getting new MSD/whatever wires will help anything. Actually, I don't know if you can even replace the wires.

This is still debatable. Some swear by them and some have said they are junk. I currently use them for a supercharger application. I'm not sure if they will provide any performance benefits in NA car. I don't think they are junk but I'm somewhat sceptical about their benefits in terms of adding performance. I'm hoping they will maintain the performance I'm used to but will also add longevity. But since you say you change plugs every 15,000 miles, these may only prove to show you how well your wallet performs. But to each his/her own.

I have the IK24s, and love them. I don't know if the Iridium is any better than Platinum, but the colder plugs are much better in warm climates. I don't have that many mods, but I have verified via OBDII that my ECU is allowing about 10% more advanced timing than my friends S2000 (which is almost identical to mine aside from the plugs).

RZ, of all the people here whose opinion can be trusted and believed, Gernby is one of them. If you have questions about these plugs, ask him.
