With that stated: Thank goodness that they don't build them like they use to. My 1969 Pontiac Firebird would run like CRAP if I did not change the points, plugs, rotor and condensor every 10,000 miles.

They aren't nearly as good as the Shop Manual and Owners Manual claim. Our '01 S2000, which turned 5 years old this month, (and has I think, around 63,000 miles on it) was idling roughly, and 2 days before our trip to the Phoenix meet on March 2nd, the check engine light came on.
I had new spark plugs on hand that I ordered from H and A, months ago, so I got Andy to put them in. What a big difference! Oh, and after I reset the check engine light, it never came back on. (I removed a fuse for a few seconds.)
The idle is smooth now. Here are photos of the removed plugs. They should NOT look like this. I will not wait as long to replace my '05's plugs.

I believe Honda claims you can go 105,000 miles before changing the plugs but I'm not planning on going that long. The longest I've gone on any vehicle I've owned between changing plugs is 30k, this may be old-school thinking but hey this is the Vintage section!

There is a service bulletin on this. It may or may not affect your year.

Mine was done. I wasn't sure so I went and looked in my manual and the new stickers were there.
