spark plug gaps

Most plugs come with a pre-gapped setting, but I would still recommend that you at least check the gap to ensure it is within the spec you are looking for. Most times in my experience I have had to regap the "pregapped" plugs to fit the proper spec for our car.

i went to autozone and they checked the gap, they said it was fine. But i removed one plug and when i eyeball it the gap on the old plug is slightly larger. The new plug looks bent in a bit more. is this normal?
I also ran into another issue. When i try to remove the plug the extension comes off and i cant get the plug and the plug socket out.I was able to once but it was a bitch. Gonna try some ducked tape on the extension and socket to make them stay together and yes, ill be careful..

OK..replaced the plugs and all is great. car started up fine and a test drive showed me a bit more pep especially under VTEC. here is the pic of the old plugs. i assume these were from the factory as the car has 62K on it. Boy, they were a bitch to get out.

Yeah they looked pretty good when i took them out and figured for 10 years old they held up well. But i got a power kick by replacing them and i noticed the car reved higher quicker. Even the VTEC sounded smoother so im happy.
