Car ran like a pos... i changed the plugs.... this is what i found.


Please only buy OEM plugs. Previous owner got cheap on me.

the plugs dont suck, your car sucks. Thats oil leaking into the spark plugs and therefore they are not firing correctly and so your car runs like a wuss.

I don't think I have an oil leak. The plug tube was pretty dry and so was the coil but it was stained a little.
I think it came up through the plug. Why would an electrode sink in?

I would hope that it was from the valve cover seal around the tube.... Cuz dear god... If that much oil is coming from the cylinder I would estimate your burning about a quart a mile.

I agree that that is an engine issue affecting the plugs and not the other way around. It wont be too terribly long until the new plugs are in the same condition.

Nothing wrong with Denso plugs. OEM plugs are Denso plugs - platinum. The car is now 12 years since it's intro. How long does it take for people to realize that a stock S2000 doesn't like Iridium plugs. Plus, that oil leak has nothing to do with those plugs.

what are you talking about- the oem plugs are ngk iridiums. the f20 likes iridium- they usually act funny with platinum plugs.
Like everyone else has been saying, the spark plugs have nothing to do with your problem- you should have a leakdown test done to your motor. I would think the valve guides are shot based on how much oil is making it into your cylinder. how often do you have to put oil in between oil changes.

OEM calls for NGK PFR7G-11S which are ngk laser platinum's. The Honda dealership even sold them to me as oem. I burn a little less that a quart every 1000 miles. I dont think i have a engine leak because the spark plug tube was not "oil" logged and trust me ive seen oil logged tubes before. i did run it misfiring. It came and went so im assuming the electrode starting to sink along time ago. Im going to blame it on the plug for now and keep my eye on the oil level and check the plug in a few hundred miles to make sure.
