i have a 05 s2000 and i want to know were is the redline and when does vtec engage cause i got on it today and at 7k rpm the red part of the tach blinked on so i thought i was hitting the rev limiter so immediately i let off but i just installed my invidia v3 and it dont sound like it gets any louder untill then when i hit 7k for a sec so ...my question is was that vtec or redline...sorry for such a dumb question but ive only had the car a month and honestly..im only 19 i saved for a whole year and sum to buy this car in cash so i baby the crap outa it thats why i havent figured this out already

btw: i have searched for the vtec engagement point on a 05 is seems every one says something different

VTEC engages right around 6000 rpm. The reason it flashed at 7000 rpm is because your engine was cold. Until your temp guage hits four bars it will not enter VTEC, and it will lower the fuel cutoff. Warm it up good and take it to 8000 rpms, you'll hear and feel when it hits VTEC.
