I am having an issue with various nuts/bolts (turbo manifold nuts, turbo bolts, wastegate bolts, etc.)coming loose in my engine bay. All of these items have been torqued to spec but for some strange reason are backing off. I haven't heard of other S2000s having this same problem, and I am beginning to think my S2000 is simply jinxed.

Anyways, the speed shop that I am using has recommended solid motor mounts to held reduce the vibration produced by the engine. Does anybody have any experience with solid motor mounts? Do you know of any cons by having solid motor mounts? It seems to me that solid motor mounts would only create MORE vibration.

Thoughts?
Motor mounts have noting to do with causing vibration, only trnsferring vibrating. All that will happen is your chassis will vibrabe with solid motor mounts. Two words for you Loctite Blue.

Wouldn't the slight movement of stock mounts offer a cushion to the entire driveline (transmission, driveshaft, rearend and axels?).
Solid mounts sound like a good idea in racing enviroments but could come at the expense of the reliability of other parts.
The Spoons that were mentioned above might be a good compromise.

Any turbo setup has bolts backing out. It happens because of the extreme temperatures the manifold/compressor/etc will go through in operation which makes them contract and expand. You'll just have to add these to your regular maintenance and check them when checking the oil. This is normal. Keep a few extra bolts too in case they fall out.

Another solution is to heat coat your pieces.

Some of the bolts/nuts are a PITA to get to--you can only access them from underneath the car.
