If the wear is only showing from the inside, you may be satisfied with a patch applied on the inside. I had a similar spot of wear that was allowing light and water to come through--about the size of a pin-hole. I used thin iron-on patches on the inside applied with a low-heat iron and made the vinyl weather-proof again using permatex vinyl and leather patch (using the black/white compounds only, not the clear). I think that the inside repair looks like it could have come from the factory. If I was more careful with the outside repair, it could have been undetectable. Unfortunately, I got a bit more of the vinyl patch "goop" on the top than I intended. The instructions say that excess will wipe off with a wet cloth prior to applying heat. . . Don't believe that. I took pictures of the process, but can't find the memory card for the camera. YMMV...

There is now a TSB covering this issue for MY05 and newer S2K's look into that and see if you're covered.
