Default Are softtop latches suppose to align perfectly?

When my softtop latch meets the catcher, the driver side hits it slightly off. When it close the latch it is fine but before you sorta have to push the pin slightly over to make it fit. The cather it self looks like it is slightly to the right when it sits it the cut out of the plastic trim

As you can see its been striking to the right slightly and the catcher seems to be off to the left from the plastic.

You can see that its slightly off when its locked. It could be camera angle but its not.

This is the passenger side and its centered.

Is there a way to adjust this? Under the windshield trim?

I have an 01'. Looks identical to yours, I would say its normal. I doubt it is adjustable, the latch thingy is but I doubt the mount is.

i bought newer latches (that are on the windscreen), after i had the problems you were having... The newer ones are designed for the hardtop as well, and also were much tighter than the old ones i had. One of the better upgrades ive done because now the car's top doesnt rattle going over bumps and there is a bit less wind noise on the highway

As a side note to this, the fact that the latches sit to the side means that once the strikers wear out you can swap them from side to side to get 'fresh' metal to clamp on. Completely stopped my top rattles!

The strikers have no adjustment how they are mounted to the windshield frame. Yours are worn, and you can swap them side to side, or replace them with hardtop strikers which are quieter with the top up.

The strikers are a wear item and need to be replaced occasionally.

the OP has a MY04 so he has the updated strikers. You are correct they are a wear item.

If you look at Hardtop install instructions from Honda for MY03-07 you will see that the strikers supplied with the top are not used.

I just replaced them yesterday with HT strikers.

OEM AP2 softtop strikers are not the same striker used for a HT.
