Soft top loose, Vibration under accell??
Hello there,
i need some help !
1- Can the roof be tightened (my99) ? it seems to be getting a bit slack at the back and flaps around on the motorway, very annoying !
2- Shudder under hard Acceleration, gets progressively worse as you go through the gears. ie fourth gear through 100mph. could this be my old noisy buzzy clutch giving way ? or could this be a bad diff / prop shaft / driveshaft ??
please advise...

hey steve hows melbourne? i used to livein vero beach !
yeh i know about the striker plates TSB ...that just pulls the leading edge of the roof down further and hence tighter...
the roof is slac at the back...around the rear screen... i have tried pushing the rearmost roof beam backwards/downwards. but it looks like it is still slack ??

btw - definetely think i have that inner CV joint problem...was there ever a complete fix from honda over this?

but the shudder during acceleration sounds like the famous pitting of the cv joints.
....the soft top is riveted in place along the rear. You will most likely have to take it to an uphostery shop (I would no want to risk screwing it up, IMO). They should do it for a not too much $.John

i wonder how much they will charge here in england..as upholstry shops aren t ten to the dozen as they are in america...
plus it already has two small tears in the roof... i dont know if its worth it..may just save for a retro fitted later spec mohair roof..hmm
