Soft top install gone wrong?
Hi All,
Hoping someone can point out where I went awry on this new top installation.
New to me '03 S2K acquired last spring which was in need to a new top; purchased one of these guys:
Followed installation instructions in this thread and everything went generally smoothly.
Final result unfortunately is quite lumpy towards the back of the roofline (apologies for the cat hair in the photos), Not sure where i could have gone wrong, but this was my first top install so anything's possible. I did notice when removing the old top that the nylon straps connected to the trunkline studs were previously disconnect, not sure if that was intentional? I also noticed that the top I received was supposed to include a heated rear window but was just the plain glass; although not that critical here in Hawaii. It also included some straps which I believe were retrofit strap for installing in an earlier (plastic window) S2K, which I did not use. These two items makes me wonder if I was perhaps sent a top for a different model-year vehicle.
So...installer error or wrong materials? Any conclusions based on the photos, or is there anything I can check?
Much appreciate in advance any guidance or suggestions!
