Soft Clutch Pedal
Noticed this afternoon that my clutch pedal was softer then normal. I pulled over, checked the reserve and it was about empty and pulled over to buy some brake fluid to top it off. After re-filling the reserve I noticed the pedal felt better, but was still softer then normal. I took a peek around where the rod meets the master and could see some black grease coming out of it, so I'm suspecting its leaking. With that said
I read some of Billman's post about pretty much every s2000 master cylinder leaking and how maintaining clean fluid will stop the leak. Would bleeding the clutch solve the issue or should I just replace the master? Also, if I replace the master, is it necessary to replace the slave at the same time?
Thanks!

had the same issue with mine, see if there is any fluid leaking into the pedal area, behind the master cyl inside the car. If this is the case youll need a new one. Ive been living with mine for the last couple weeks and just keep on the fluid level. You probably need to bleed out air though. I am going to replace Both Master and Slave at the same time since every time the clutch is pushed in the slave is being used equally.

Spoke to Billman about it a little while ago. Apparently virtually all the s2k clutch master cylinders leak, and that a simple bleed to get the air out and fresh fluid in should stop the leak. Going to give that a shot before dropping money on new parts that may not be necessary. Thanks again Billman!

Gravity bled the clutch today per Billman's instructions and its 100% back to normal. Also took apart the slave, cleaned it out nicely, and polished and re-greased the ball at the end of the clutch slave cylinder since I was starting to develop the associated rough/sqeaky pedal. I drove the car around for a good 30 minutes to see if the clutch master cylinder was still leaking and it did not drop at all. Don't see any leaking from the clutch master cylinder inside the car either. I'll be keeping tabs on the clutch master reservoir to see if it drops but after 30 miles of driving, it hasn't dropped at all.

can't wait until i have time for a gravity bleed and slave polish! My trans doesn't happily go into first gear unless another gear is selected first, hoping this will cure me.

I too want a link to Billmans instructions on the gravity bleed?
