Default Soft Clutch Pedal

When I bought my second S2000 I knew something felt different about the clutch and after driving a friends car last week I figured out its that the pedal feels really soft comparatively. I was able to stall it in 3rd gear so I don't believe it's slipping, engagement point is where it should be, but it's much harder to tell where it is on my car. It also doesn't seem like the master cyl is leaking, can't find anything leaking out and fluid is where it was 6 months ago after a gravity bleed (which didn't really seem to do anything). I actually drove two friends cars and both had far better pedal feel, I could easily find the engagement point and they both felt a lot heavier than mine. All clutches are believed to be OEM, but kind of hard to be 100%. Any ideas?

This will change your clutch feel--give it a shot:

Also change your clutch fluid with new dot3 using Billmans turkey baster method.

Good luck!

I did the gravity bleed and it didn't change anything. Would the polishing help with the dull engagement point?

Polishing the slave cylinder rod will not help at all with a soft pedal. Its either an issue with air in the line, weak pressure plate, or faulty master or slave cylinder. If it is engaging fine and not slipping, I would not be worried. Perhaps the other cars you are testing out have a heavy pedal due to lack of lubrication on the input shaft/shift fork.

I just installed a Comp Clutch stage 2 in my car and it felt softer than OEM... the old setup had almost no grease left on any of the moving parts.
