A new bare head can be bought from Honda for around 1820 if you find a dealer who's doing well and doesn't need to rape everyone.

jordanksartell is a solid choice for proper rebuild.

Arp studs are no upgrade, and I will never use them in any s2000 not even boosted.

Also be warned about decking any S2000 head if it isn't necessary. Amount of heads I've needed to deck in 12 years is zero.

Agreed with all of the above.

jordanksartell replaced my head and I have no complaints about his work. I even drove 16 hours round-trip to him.

So they have the head coming from Cali, and it will be around $1900 or so. Looks like I also need 6 new valves, head gasket and a few other minor things. When all is said and done, we are looking at about $6k of work to be back on the road.

Yowsah! But I need the car running. It is my DD and still have a bit of my loan left (I just got it a year and a few months ago).

$6,000?!?!?!? I would have gotten you a new engine and installed it for that kind of change.

Damn dude, I could've rebuilt you either your original head or one I have on the shelf for FAR less than 1900 AND upgrade your retainers/keepers.

I've seen multiple people have had their head lift when using ARPs while OEM head bolts held multiple passes on Real Streets 700+HP S2000 before it finally lifted the head. Those people were making far less than 700HP when their ARP's failed.
