Default So my car has been sitting for 1 1/2 years..

My car has been sitting in the garage for 2 years (I came back to the states a few months ago to start her up).. I've been out of the country for a very long time due to personal reasons and had no other choice but to leave her behind sitting in the garage. I know it was bad so help me get her fixed up again.
What is the first thing I should do to it.

She needs a new battery for starters..
Any maintanance suggestions?
+ Cost?

Thanks.

fuel is probably shit so don't drive it hard until it gets changed. maybe a bottle of injector cleaner if you want while your filling up.

tire pressure

oil change, and maybe tranny and diff fluid if you'd like

and.........................a WASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Air in tires, maybe replace if flat spotted from sitting to long

New oil, tranny, diff fluid

New plugs

New gas if you didn't add anything to keep it from going bad

Maybe grease the seals on the top to keep them good

I was away from my car for a little over 2 years as well. Here is what I did when I got back.

1) Oil Change (Royal Purple, Mobil 1, Whatever you feel like really)
2) Transmission fluid change (I would suggest Amsoil MTF or Redline MTL)
3) Diff Fluid Change (I would suggest Amsoil Severe Gear 75w110)
4) Check Belts and Hoses under the hood
5) Apply Shin-Etsu grease to seals
6) Put a bottle of fuel system cleaner in the gas tank and top off if not full (I suggest Redline Fuel system Cleaner)
7) Wash and wax
8) Dust / Clean interior
9) Drive it easy for a couple gas tanks

That's what I did. Good luck man, and enjoy your S2000 again.

Sorry noob question..
But I'd like to buy the stuff and take to my usual mechanic since I know he doesn't have most of the stuff..
How many bottles of each thing would I need for all the fluids? Thanks

5.1 quarts of motor oil (5-6 bottles)
1.7 quarts of transmission fluid (2 bottles)
1 quart of diff fluid (1 bottle)
1 bottle of fuel system cleaner (1 bottle)

good luck and enjoy it.

Brake fluid should be changed every two years.
