Default So I Adjusted My Valves Today

Car is a 2006 AP2 with 86,000 miles. I did a valve adjust, probably the first one that has been done. I ended up tightening up the clearance on most of the intake valves, and loosening the clearance on all the exhaust valves. They were really tight for some reason. Anyway, does it sound alright? It runs great, I've never had such a smooth idle and power delivery. Then again I've only had the car for about 5,000 miles and this is my first S2000 so I never really knew they could be this smooth until now.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll take a closer look at it. Are you basing this on how it looks, or is it something you can hear?

That sounds very smooth and quiet.

Yeah, the F series engines will always have some noise to the drivetrain. I did the valve adjustment 3 times myself a month after I got my S. After going through all that and being really careful to do it right (ie leave the car overnight and do the adjustment when everything is at room temperature, and double checking my work) I have come to the conclusion that these cars just have noisy valve trains. Don't get me wrong it definitely needed an adjustment, but the difference in drivetrain noise from a properly adjusted engine and one that needs it isn't too radically different albeit still noticable.

Cool thanks guys. I'm really loving this car. Even after 7 years and 86k miles it still drives like a new car (especially now).
