Never!!! I always double-clutch all downshifts - it's 2nd nature for me. Besides, it's not from sudden downshifts, just a bit too much gas too quickly (see above).

And yes, my OEM tires at almost 24K miles are near EOL. I'm shoppin'.

Alignment - I checked it in September; made tiny caster adj, & big F toe adj - from big toe-out to small toe-in (I do my own). F camber ~= -0.6 deg; R camber ~= 1.99 deg; L & R caster ~= 5 deg, bit more on R; R toe-in is a little more than F now. I'd prob wasted 4K miles on F tires by not checking alignment sooner.

Tire pressure: I've been running 40psi all around. Even with this, fronts are bald on inner ribs from running too long with toe-out. Rears are worn evenly, even with the almost 2 deg neg camber.

I might try a little less R neg camber when I get time.

drewmob, thanks for that interesting autocross prep article link. Wondering if a stiffer front sway bar would moderate this low speed oversteer.

I think a stiffer front sway would help you. Maybe a little less rear camber if you're street driving most of the time and try reducing the rear pressure just a touch.

40psi on factory tires with 24k miles?????? Uh, yeah, that's your issue. Get new tires, at the proper pressure, then come back if there's still a problem, although I suspect there won't be.

From what I understand the larger CR front sway bar is a good mod. to correct this. I personally enjoy the oversteer in my MY06, infact I had to add some front camber to get just a bit more, now the car is PERFECT . I may get better acceleration out of corners with the CR sway bar though.

This thread is ridiculous. The only thing wrong with the car is the nut behind the wheel. Learn to be smooth with your inputs and read up on the traction circle concept. Instead of reading a thread about autocrossing, why not go to one and get some seat time with an instructor?

I've got an AP2V2 and honestly it surprised me with how well behaved the rear end is. In fact, if you are smooth with the throttle and pushing the car hard in a corner, it actually helps to keep the tail planted when you go on throttle. The only way I manage to push the tail out is by mashing on the gas through the apex.

40psi hella high? On my other car, the Dunlops in the rear have a 58PSI max, and the Falkens i have in the front have a max of 55PSI. I pumped them to 50PSI in the rear and 48PSI fronts
