Default smoking at stop light

So lately I've been noticing a cloud of smoke from the rear when a red light turns green. Sometimes when I get home, I reverse in and a puff of smoke is seen and smells like oil. I had a oil change about 2,000 miles ago with royal purple. 5qts and a k&n oil filter. I just put in a pcv valve from Honda yesterday and I still see some smoke. I checked my oil and looks like im pretty low. So I added about half a quart to be safe. I just bought the car a month ago. Compression test came good. Might do a leak down soon. Previous owner put in ap2 retainers but I never checked myself. No lights are on and still runs 100%. Vtec still kicks good.

137k on the car/engine
Password jdm intake (dc2) the air pump line not connected
Ebay exhaust
Some sort of high flow cat

Those are the only mods. So what do you guys think? Rings? Valves? Maybe I need a breather set up?

How would I check oil in the intake?

Im thinking the rings too but id have to do a leak down before I know. I don't think it would be the head gasket because its not white smoke and hasn't over heated in this hot and humid weather yet. Anyone ever had oil problems with royal purple?

have your used oil analyzed. that could tell you something

have you ever noticed your oil is burning or decreasing fast?

if not, it's just caused by cold and humid weather

Try a different oil next oil change and use an OEM filter. See if it gets any better. Some oil burn can be considered normal.

I always wondered where I can go test my oil at. But I want to change my oil to a different brand. I heard castrol is pretty good for our oil consumption. Which castrol? And yea definitely going with a oem s2k oil filter next time. The smoke is coming from the exhaust. Pcv valve just changed. Oem
