Smelling gas from inside cabin
#22
I am still having this same issue...but it's definitely not injector o-rings on my car.

It's alwaays hot here in Tucson, AZ so rule that out for me.
I seem to notice the most after 2 good long drives after a fill-up (so the tank is at about 3/4 full). When I get home from work the gas fumes are so potent I feel like I could get high in my garage!
Here's what I've checked so far:
-injector rail and o-rings (no leaks or wetness)
-fuel supply and return coupling connections inside engine bay (brand new condition, no wetness)
-lines under the car running along body towards rear (look brand new)
-gas cap is on tight
Here's what I haven't checked:
-rubber gasket inside gas cap (will do this at lunch)
-filler tube vent lines
-fuel sending unit
-quick disconnect fitting at fuel tank
-EVAP valve
-Fuel Tank Vapor Control valve

I don't know. I took my car to a very reputable s2000 shop around here and that's how I knew it was the o-ring. When I first saw the gas squirting out of the injector (right side of the engine) I thought it was a bad injector. As of now, I still smell gas a little when I get in my car. But that's just because the gas got on some stuff under the hood. You might be able to find a DIY somewhere on this site or google.

Yes it could cause the motor to run rich or lean but not to the point of smelling raw gas fumes. Of course if your injector had a hole in it you would smell raw gas.
I would just turn the key to the ON position so the fuel pump is on and trace the whole fuel system under the hood and check for leaks.
