Smelling fuel from the cabin

I wasn't correlating the smell and the tearing the car apart, I was saying that you could have left a ground connection loose (not likely to spark, but not impossible), or some other electrical wiring could have gotten pinched, cut, frayed. Which leads to the possibility of a spark, the LAST thing you want when you are smelling fuel.

Hope it's the gas cap cheers

Oh I understand now lol. Ya i hope not! I just need to get this figured out before it drives me nuts!!!!!

Check your EVAP lines at the canister (the large one that comes from the top of fuel tank). I have my EVAP hose intentionally unplugged at the canister and smell fuel when standing near the drivers door.

I'll check again tomorrow but I think the smell went away... i DID PUSH and TIGHTEN the gas cap at the same time.

^ This! I had to get that replaced. I used to smell gas when stepping out of my car before it got replaced.
