Default Smell when im in VTEC

I just bought my S2000 2 weeks ago, its an '01. I bought it from a dealership with 57,000 miles. Anyway heres the problem, when ever I am in the VTEC accerating, it starts to smell. The smell is similar to clutch but, I know its not my clutch. The Mant. Req. light is on but I read that if something was wrong with the engine the CEL would come on and, that the Mant. Req. light is just for your oil. So could it be that the engine is just burning old, dirty oil very fast because of the high rpm? I just kind of need to know if this is serious or not. Thanks guys.

Residual dust and crap being kicked out of the air conditioner/heating system due to the higher engine speed?

It's prolly coming from your underwear.

Yesterday I had the same smel.
I have never smelled it before (have the car for 5000 km now and have v-tec a lot ) but I had been driving slow in the rain and dirty roads just before so I figured it was:
- dirt on the outside of the exhaust that was burning up
- dirt inside of the exhaust that was burning up

after some v-tec the smel was gone. no problems.

On a serious note, the smell may be gear oil coming from the vent on your differential.
