Default Small piece of spark plug into valvetrain

As it says, somehow a plug broke and a little piece fell somewhere into the valvetrain... very annoying. I can't find it... do you think I should worry? Or is the pickup screen small enough not to suck it up

Update: found it. Broken plug was causing my random Misfire... never had an issue with this before so I'm kinda unsure why it happened. 1 broken and 1 other cracked

What kind of plug was it? Did you knock the piece off or was it shot to begin with?

Consider yourself lucky it didn't slide down the oil drain into the pan.

they were the oem plugs, the ngk ones... i forget the number.. i have to just assume that they were damaged in shipping, i didnt notice and the heat killed them... it was a very strange thing...

and the piece i did lose was big enough that the oil pump screen would have stopped it.... but its running great! between fixing the timing that was def. a tooth off and the plugs actually working the car runs like a dream

if it didn't damage the engine cylinders then the part likely blew out the exhaust. Not likely that it ended up in the oil pan as it would have to get past the piston rings.

Valve cover must have been off to drop it in the valvetrain?

Not sure how a broken piece of spark plug gets into the combustion chamber. Unless, it fell into an open spark plug hole?
