Mine started with 20K+ miles also... What is bothering me is that usually if a seal is installed incorrectly it leaks right away. Strange that it would take over 20k miles to start. The good news is the leak goes away after a new seal is installed correctly, so the leak is not due to anything else. If you hit 50k without any reoccuring leaks then you should be good.
Honestly, I'm not sure when my car started to leak transmission fluid. I just started noticing it on my floor at 20k miles. I have 40k miles now and the leak has not reappeared.

is there a methodology to replace this seal if you dont have the special tool from honda with out rolling the lip or is that a negative? im getting ready to do a clutch job on my 02 and its leaking in the same exact spot.

i understand one of the seals goes in side the transmission . does the other one go into the motor ?

any help is appreciated.

my o3 did just this but it was just slave cylinder it was dripping down to same place and also started making the clutch disk slip i pulled the boot out of the way until i could get around to replacing it then clutch stopped slipping and i quit having to fill up the clutch reservour. 40000 miles later it still hasn't leaked or had any problems at 112000 miles slave cylinder just fixed itself in my case somehow. Your leakage however did look identicle to mine

It has allready been determined to be either engine oil, or trans oil. Both are similar weights, color and smell. It's not the slave cylinder.
Sometimes you have to taste it, as dumb, and nasty as it sounds, both a very distinguishable, now I sound like I am crazy sorry.
