seems like this happens on later model s2k's.
anyhow, question for SLOW:
if i am replacing my clutch soon, should I replace both seals as a maintenance type of work...? since one of the causes they leak is because they get old...

if it is relatively easy and cheap to replace, i might as well replace them when i replace my clutch.
otherwise, the labor cost to dissassemble the clutch assembly to replace these parts would be expensive.
how much do these guys cost and is it easy to replace?

Whatever they cost it has got to be cheaper then pulling the trans again to get to them. I wish that I knew about this last year when I had my flywheel, pressure plate and clutch upgraded.

They are Very easy to install wrong if you don't have the correct drivers. That's my biggest reason for not recommending a DIY. If you roll the lip of the seal you'll be pulling it back apart to do it all over again. Sometimes if the seal is not brittle, it's best to leave it alone.

The tech at Hardin Honda installed it wrong and it was still leaking. The tranny had to come out again to reinstall the $11 part.
