Sometimes a glazed clutch will "recover" after some gentle driving, because the glazed surface can be worn away. However, if the glazing is producing slipage the slipage is apt to produce more glazing, and the problem just gets worse. IOW, if the clutch is only a little glazed some gentle driving *may* let it recover, but if it's slipping badly all the time then it's time to replace the thing.
