Slight popping when turning steering wheel
#11
It *sounds* like the popping is coming from the passenger side of the steering rack - where the rubber boot is.
Guess I have to go see if this is covered under warranty?

Update: Took it to my nearest Honda dealership. They are working on it as we speak (I hope).
Noise definitely comes from steering rack. Not the column, not bushings. Inside the rack.
Will let you know as soon as they (I) know.

I think I am having a simular issue. When I move the steering wheel rapidly left to right there is a small clunk sound by the rack on the driver side. Im going to try to tighten up he mounting bolts for the rack to see if that does anything. The steering seems to be ok, but the noise bothers me. I removed the wheels and checked the outer tie rods and they seem fine. No wiggle (left to right) in the wheel (not steering wheel LOL). Seems solid but noise is still evident. Im going to have my buddy move the wheel back and fourth for me while I listen underneath to see if I can pin point it exactly, whenever he wishes to get out of bed

Update! Sorry for zombie-ing, but...
Dealer changed out the Steering COLUMN, even though I told them it was the rack- surprise, pop was still there. I wasn't complaining, new part, and they claim it got rid of the dead zone. I didn't know.
Changed the rack, and popping stopped. It was definitely internal.
They did alignment too (though it still pulls to the right slightly - don't know why- maybe a Houston streets thing). Wa-hoo.
So! Slight popping sound when stopped/low speed and swinging steering wheel from left to right MAY be steering rack. Mine was.
