slight hesitation under 3k rpm
I just noticed today whenever I am under 3k rpm there is a slight hesitation and loss of power for a split second until I throttle above 3k then it totally disappears and at WOT there are no problems either. I have not had a chance to check anything yet. 50k miles on the car and wondering if anyone else has ran into something similiar. It has a stage 3 Clutch Masters Clutch, so I would like to think it isn't the clutch not grabbing for some unforseen reason because it catches nice when shifting and at high rpm.

it's normal on all s2k's. The engine leans out depending how much throttle is given. Just a gap in the programming of the ECU i think. Guess at Honda they didnt think anyone would keep the engine under 3K .

this isn't a normal leaning out, i found out there may be a hole in the fuel mapping from the MAP sensor. I'm having a picture taken with the PGM from Honda and seeing if it shows the hole. Most likely that is what it is and I'll just get another MAP sensor under warranty. The fuel leaning out doesn't occur til around 1200 rpm, not 2800.

Mine does the same thing between 2800-3100. I noticed it more when we richend up the motor during break in. I hope tunning will get rid of it. Have you noticed the same thing slightly above 5,000 as well?

I have noticed this on my S as well. I was in stop and go traffic and it felt like it was bogging. I checked for any recalls on the car and there is a recall on the spark plugs and coil. This problem seemed electric so I am hoping it will solve the problem. I am taking it in on thursday. I will let you know. In the meantime, check on recalls for your cars periodically.

I'm pretty sure I have it, too. I had a similar bogging in my 2000 Prelude at around 2300-2500 RPM. It seems to generally just occur right after throttle tip-in, so I'm assuming it has something to do with the change in air flow.
I just deal with it, and try to avoid being that low in the power band.

Good day :
I do not have this problem on my 03.This may be the result of me
adjusting the throttle cable .I learned to do this on my miata and the s2k needs to have it done as well.It seems from the factory
they leave some play in the cable and also over time there may be slight give .It is a simple adjustment of two nuts .

the problem is not an adjustable cable or change in air flow, my problem has not came back sine we unplugged and plugged the MAP back in, it will probably eventually come back but most sources are still pointing to this being a map sensor problem. Good ol tapping of the map sensor may delay the problem for a while for anyone else having this problem if you can't get a snapshot taken at Honda with the PGM.

Yes...take it to the dealer. Not sure if the MAP on the drive-by-wire 2006+ cars is different from the other years...but the for the other cars it is around $50USD.
