slave cylinder seal; 50k powertrain warranty?
Hi :-|
So my '08 with 37K miles, has a oil leak.
The dealer came back with a slave cylinder seal that is leaking, but said the computer is not coming up as under warranty.
The service adviser told me to give him till Monday (since it's the weekend) to call corporate or someone higher to get this approved, but he thinks it will be something out of pocket around ~$40 total for me.
So, should this be 100% covered?
Also, what would be the main/usual cause for this to leak, if any?
And does this take 2 days (dropping the transmission out) to fix?
The part is on order, coming somewhere from Georgia.
Thanks :-]

No the tranny doesn't need to be pulled to service the slave cylinder. Only reason I can think of for such an early failure of a seal would be attributed to dirty clutch fluid.
