"Skips & Bumps" in gas line when accelerating?
When I'm throttle down in VTECH, or accelerating quickly but not flooring it, my '03 s2k keeps producing "bumps" I feel, or "quick skips" in the gas line. And the car lags during these instances. It's happening more each day.
I feel it happen under my foot touching throttle while I'm accelerating, and I feel them jerk a little within the car.
Almost for a brief 1/2 second the car loses the ability to accelerate or get gas. Then is quickly kicks back in and keeps accelerating. I tried some Gumout fuel system cleaner, but have had no results as of yet.
Maybe the Spark plugs? Not sure when they were replaced last. My '03 has 59k on it. No check engine light is on. Please help. Thx.

VTECH is a phone...
Would not be bad to replace the plugs with OEM NGK Lasers if the car has 60k miles and you're not sure when they were last replaced.
But stumbling is usually caused by the MAP sensor.

Manifold Absolute Pressure if I remember it correctly, cost anywhere between $50.00 to $90.00

Look in the FAQ DIY for MAP.
Just took the car out for a drive and VTEC session and the result was very smooth and normal. I went ahead and reset the ECU, even though my Check Engine Light was never on. Not sure if I needed to do the ECU thing, but I did. I did it with the car "off"... I hope that's how you remove the fuse for a few minutes??... if not, someone let me know.
It's funny how hitting a sensor made of plastic with a rubber-handled screw driver could help me save soooo much money. I hope it works for good... I also installed a zip tie. I'll keep you posted.
Thx Everyone...

and if it happens again check your throttle position sensor as mine was doing something similar to what you have and it wasn't the MAP. now I'm in the market for a throttle body.
good luck!
