Default single clunk from right rear tire

i have read many posts about this single clunk from the rear.

car is a 01 and i mainly notice it when i am taking off. or if i am moving and shift from nuetral to second i hear the"clunk" it is a single clunk.

basically it is either:
1 brake pads popping?
2 axle nut need to be retorqued?
3 or??

If one axle is making noise, it may be hard to decipher which side it is coming from.

The rear on my car make s a one sided (driver's) clunk too- I only hear it when going straight and when Im in neutral rolling to a stop or starting in 1st gear. I also hear what sounds like worn out mattress springs squeaking. This occurs when I get in and out of the car, go over bumps, or push down on the trunk. I think this is unrelated, possibly a worn out ball joint tho.
