There could be some concern forl ong term result. I mean the nuits wont fall off since they are staked but doing some research and talking to xviper the wheel bearing could get worn out after awhile perhaps. But again I've had this for awhile and just now going to do something about it lol...the littlest things get to me!!

Good ideaabout retorqueing both wheels!

Also hoth you said u bought new nuts? Did you break the old ones when you took them off? All you need to do this job is basically a torque wrench to go 225 and grease. I don't have the wrench hence the honda mechanic plus he probably would be able to take the screws off without breakage.

I mean when I first got my s2k a awhile back, every time I hit revers that small click sound would be there and I was like fuk i hope its not the diff. Then I changed the diff fluid recently and nothing bad came out and mechanic said car was perfect. So I still go that noise so 99% its the nuts so again its been here for awhile and car drivers perfect

I did the re-torque and then replaced the wheel bearing shortly thereafter. The torque may only mask a real problem if not caught soon enough.

wheel bearing replaced? did u go for along time withouth retorquing it to 220? So your car did make a notciable loud noise when it was accelrating past 50 (one symtom of wheel bearing failure)

It was probably a month or so before attempting the retorque. Apparently that was too long or it was on its way out anyways. The noise actually sounded more like a rub of the brake shield, one noise per wheel revolution. Was quite noticeable at low speeds (>10mph)...

I just had this one, the Axle Pops or Creaks, done by an independent. (At 50,000 miles I'm way out of warranty. Cost $8 for two new spindle nuts and $44 labor.) It isn't a TSB, but something less official called a Technical Service Note, #011201. VFROOOM posted an image of it in the updated TSB list thread.

I watched the tech do the work. The noise is due to the spindle nut rubbing against the hub. What fixes it is the grease they apply between the nut and the hub. The extra torque isn't strictly necessary, just a little more friction to keep it from shifting around as much. Except that the noise is annoying, you could probably go 100,000 miles without it becoming a mechanical issue.

wow $44 for labor? At most it would take 20-30min for a mechanic to to unpry the center piece of the wheel, take of the nut re grease then troque it and your done? Am i missing something?

again I'm going in tommorow with no new nuts as Xiper has suggested you can re use the old nuts.

did they damage your old nuts ron hence you used new ones?

I'm not complaining about the price. The tech spent over an hour on it, with me watching everything. The $44 included test drives before and afterwards to verify the noise, as well as removing the wheels to carefully inspect all the drivetrain, suspension, and brake components in the vicinity for signs of other potential causes. The actual repair was much like you said.

The nut is spiked in place by using a hammer and screwdriver to bend in one side after torquing it down. It is already damaged before you take it off. If you are lucky, after you retorque to 220 ft-lbs a different side may be at the spike point so spiking a second time will work, but the nut is clearly not intended to be used more than once.

Here's a picture of the old nuts with the spiked sides. They could probably have been reused, but for $8 savings I don't see the sense in it.
