Sideways Big Exhaust
#42
i made a straight pipe exhaust once except it had the stock resonator in place which is just a straight through can, anyway the thing was loud! 60mm-2.5inch piping. the car was almost the loudest thing on the drag strip! the only things that were louder were the 10 second V8 guys! every opponent i had no one could hear

Is the resonator listed on their site, or is it too new?
Whats your target decibal range at idle, redline, and midrange?
i wonder how it will stack up against the sound of 3in exhausts on an Evo or STI db wise.

Volume readings are variable depending on direction (location) and distance. We want it to be as quiet as possible at least in the lower rpm range so you can be cop friendly.
The tone is deeper more like a Ferrari. I'm sure the final sound will be better than those EVOs and STIs.

Doesnt the resonator/mufflers have a big part as to the sound it makes and how loud?
I dont think the diameter or length of the tubing play that much of a part in noise reduction.
Then again, this is just a guess based on my limited knowledge on the subject.
I was considering fabricating a 2.75 inch exhaust with HKS mufflers. But i'm worried now because it might sound too loud and annoying (any feedback on someone doing this? Looking to get some more hp gain over the current HKS yet keep it's sound)

Every part of the exhaust system has an effect on the sound: length, geometry (bends and changes in diameter), mufflers, resonators, tips, etc.

Another new setup to try out. This one is very nice at idle and wakes up the dead at highway speed with the baffles in. I had no idea so many people used car alarms. This one feels real nice in Vtec.

Whats the beef with noise? with a setup as nice / fast as yours.. id have a 3in headerback single with no resinators
And damn.. i wish there was a shop that nice / skilled in my area... around here, you tell an exhaust shop that you have a Honda s2000... and they ask you "i know you said honda 2000, what model?"
also, they are not.. how do i put this.. careful? very messy.. and just unprofessional (except one that i delt with). anyway, looks cool.
