Default Side mirror housing rotated

About a year ago my car had some work done at a local shop and I just this weekend noticed that the passenger side mirror just didn't look quite right.. On closer inspection, it turns out the side mirror is put on entirely wrong; it's rotated 90 degrees, but has been in the "folded back" position ever since I got the car back

The shop was crap to deal with and this was a long time ago, so I don't want to head back there. Does anyone know how to fix this? With my old Miata I could just yank the mirror straight up off the post and put it back on in the proper position, but it didn't have power mirrors to worry about..

thanks

Got a pic?

The door mirrors are designed to fold.

No pic handy but I can get one..

The problem is that the post that the mirror sits on was in the folded-in position when the mirror was placed on it -- facing out. So it no longer folds in, and is angled just a LITTLE strangely. If you push, it will fold FORWARDS instead of backwards.

Did that make sense? Would appreciate any help Hopefully I don't have to go through the hassle of removing the mirror entirely.

So it was put on when it was folded all the way in? If so then you have to take it off. (not that hard). So you can push it forward to 2 different positions? There are 3 positions total for the mirror Backward normal and forward.

Interesting, I had no idea that we could fold our mirrors.

Don't I have to completely disassemble the door to get the side mirror off?

just take the inner door panel off, 3 screws. Do a search for mirror replacement. There is a how to somewhere.

taking the mirror off is a b.... the directions to follow are simply remove door panel, then spend an hour sticking your hand blindly through tiny holes feeling for the bolts and making half turns on each bolt until they come off. I tried alot of different methods and it always wound up taking for ever for me to get it done.
