plastic endtank bonded with metal core sometime last a long long time, but if you see sight of hairline cracks(almost everytime it's on the endtank) it's going to go south fast.

i ran my oem rad(100k+) with stock stat on countless HYDE events and yet to see a spike or fourth bar(ap1 temp gauge), i am sure as hell you will not see that much load on the street unless you live in a desert towing a boat

I have replaced more cracked radiators than I can count. It's not S2k specific. All plastic tanked radiators can do this.

just curious, what rad cap have you been using, stock or aftermarket ?. Hard to tell if those cracks extend into the interior surface of the rad. It would be cool if you could drain a bit of fluid and insert a small mirror to see if they do, but the rad neck may be too small.

That's not surface wear or crazing, they are cracks. The top tank of that radiator will crack all the way through. When that happens is unknown.

If your radiator never actually cracked and leaked how do you know it was about to?
What I would REALLY like to see is a cross section of that rad if it ever gets removed and replaced. Lots of plastic starts to look bad over time, but that does not mean it has lost its core ability to perform properly.
I still don't see any real strong evidence of failures due to this appearance of 'cracking'
just sayin...still...

I've seen 1000's of cars come through the shop and many of them look like they are just going to blow right in your face while inspecting. Many customers decline the repair. I feel sorry for them when it does give out and they come back on a towing truck. Get that replaced!
