Since I drive my s2000 as my daily driver, it sees a lot of normal street driving, but once in a while I'd take it out and do some spirited driving. I noticed that when I drive around in the city a lot, it gets a bit harder to shift smoothly because the clutch seems 2 be a bit grabby? but once I take it out for some fun then on the way home it is much easier to shift smoothly.
Is this normal? if it is can someone explain why this happens?
And if it isn't normal, what could be causing that?
Thanks for any inputs!

Exact reverse for me. If I really put my foot in it and run it up to 9k in first and second, then my shift between 5th and 6th sucks. Gear grind, etc. I've had synchromesh replaced under warranty twice. Still not right tho.

It sounds to me like your transmission oil is not warming up fully during your daily driving. The transmission will definitely shift more smoothly when it is warmed up, but if it gets too hot, it could start to grind into 2nd. Down here in Texas, during the summer, it warms up in just a couple miles, but right now (in the 50's F), it is notchy for a good 10 miles.
