Default Shifting gears not smooth

Hello guys,

I noticed just recently that my car is starting to get notchy when I'm shifting from 2nd to 3rd, but more notably when going from 3rd to 4th. When I first bought the car last year, everything was buttery smooth. It's currently at 80k km and it's a 2005 model. I took it to a honda dealership and the tech said he didn't notice anything wrong and that the transmission fluid still seemed ok. But there's definitely a problem when shifting, it's not all the time, but intermittent enough for me to notice.

Any thoughts on what I can do?

Step 1. Search the forum for similar issues.
Step 2. Change transmission fluid
Step 3. Change clutch fluid
Step 4. Regrease shifter

Try a different fluid for the trans fluid, maybe Amsoil, OEM, Mobil one.

Ty, had a brain fart and didn't search as I should have. Your suggestions have been noted, will make it an upcoming weekend project.

Amsoil manual tranny fluid, is there some specific version? or any off the shelf should do? ty!

Edit - also, to clarify the first post. When I go into 4th, it feels like something is blocking the shifter. I either have to put more pressure to force it in, or hold the clutch longer and take the leaver back to neutral then try into 4th again.

Pick a fluid that you'd like and change it very 15k miles. I used Honda MTF and within 100 mi all of the shifting problems disappeared (2007 s2000).

Agreed changed fluid and made a massive difference, will be doing at least every 12 months.

Just to update everyone, I changed out the transmission fluid with Amsoil Syncromesh and did the shifter regrease. Everything is as smooth as butter now.
