Shifter Leather thing is not tight
I had my car serviced for the TSB about 1-2 gear synchronizers. They had to take out the transmission, obviously, and when they put it back in didn't attach the leather thing (tightly at the top) that goes from the shifter knob to the carpeted area.
Now it is loose and is starting to sag and I find myself constantly re-setting the position of it.
I know that this is a very small thing but it is bugging the hell out of me.
There is a wire-type thing that I can fee at the top of the leather piece that, I'm sure, used to be wrapped tightly around the top of the shifter, right below the knob.
Any ideas on how to tighten that back?

The "wire-type thing" is one of those plastic slidey things that tighten one way. I don't know if you could tighten it without removing the whole console to see it. Maybe you could try and slide it further together? My boot (leather thing) had always sagged as far as I can remember.
My advice is to buy a new Rick Hesel boot. You wouldn't believe the improved difference in material until you compare them.
Another suggetion is to pinch it tight and maybe use a needle and thread to hold it.

All that is holding the boot snug is a zip tie. Mine was the same way and all I did was lift up on the console pulled the zip tie snug and took a toe nail clipper to cut off the excess. Mine is now snug against the nut and it doesn't snag at all. Very easy process.
