This was the first thing that came to my mind... If there's a lot of water under your shift boot, it could be freezing? That'd be pretty odd though..

thanks for all the help guys.. i took it to my friends shop without telling him what u guys said and he told me the same thing...
so im gonna get it fixed tomorrow and hope for the best!
