Thumbs up Shift lever vibrates violently in neutral & more..

hey all, i was wondering if you could help me pinpoint my s2k's problem:

first things first--history of vehicle maintenance (bought the car like this):
1. previous owner had clutch replaced with act pressure plate and 6-puck disc. seems to put a lot of stress on the drivetrain.

2. found out later that differential was low on fluid, so i had it refilled

3. clutch pedal started sticking to floor due to bad pressure plate that didnt release. had a shop replace slave and master cylinders, replace clutch fluid, and it temporary solved the problem. i cant vtec the car or rev it to high rpms or itll stick again

4. clutch pedal stuck to floor again after revving to 5k rpm. this time, the clutch fork seemed to have dislodged itself from the slave cylinder. had them reconnected at a shop. fixed problem temporarily. still cant rev high or the problem will ensue.

it's obvious that the clutch is crap. im having it replaced with a fuji oem clutch. clutch hasnt been installed yet, and now...

my new problem

SYMPTOMS (still on 6-puck disc):
1. clicking/chattering/cards in spoke sound coming from gearbox area and the chattering goes faster as my speed increases. annoying and worrysome.

2. my shift lever vibrates like mad in neutral. considerable more so than when i first got the car. it vibrates only a little more than normal when i accelerate in gear. when i engine brake, it vibrates considerable more than before.

3. clutch is operating like normal, but i still cant rev high or itll stick.

4. reverse gear is tough to get into, but gets easier as the car is driven throughout the day. its not cold where i live.

-~~~~~~~~~~~

can someone enlighten me on whats causing the gear lever vibration and speed-relative chattering? is it a bad gearbox, or bad differential? could it be that my clutch fork is loose again?

thanks all for your opinions!! im a new s2k owner and these problems are killing the experience

Im getting the same vibration and sounds from the tranny.

I have serious clutch buzz, but no sticking.

Im not sure, but Im guessing a bearing on the tranny's main shaft is going out.

Mine just actually got to the point that I had to park my S.

It gradually increased to the point that the whole car shakes after 45. Tranny sounds like a train going through it. Im taking it out in the next few days and I will let you know what I find!

bearing on your output shaft (aka mainshaft) is probably worn out. could also be the bearing on ur cluster gear shaft.

Yeah thats what Im thinking. But is it the bearing on the mainshaft or the secondary shaft. That is the question.

I will let you know when I get it taken out (again).

Well turns out I only had one bolt holding my driveshaft in. Went down and bought some grade 8 bolts and some loctite and reinstalled the shaft and now all the vibrations/sounds are gone!!!

I really doubt it but I hope your problem is as easy as mine!!!!
