Shift boot/top question
is the shift boot supposed to be this low?
and do any of your tops click when you're going over minor bumps?
it seems like its coming from here
that is on the passenger side

Another solution is to put use a plastic zip tie just under the lip. That worked for me.
The previous owner put on about 1/2 inch of electrical tape. Yeah, go figure.
But that's not a problem anymore, because I removed the top and installed a nice lambskin leather boot and it looks great.
$29 at pep boys.

hmm looks like someone decided to revive my old thread. lol.
i fixed the clicking top by unscrewing the screw and removing the plastic piece to spray some wd40 in there. i put everything back and it has been fine ever since.
the shift boot i didnt really know how to get it back up without taking off the console, so i didnt bother. it doesnt really bother me now anyways.

Oh, dear. Chronic shift boot droop, something that's more embarrassing than publicly itching hemorroids. I mean, if your shift boot droops, well, that reflects on your other drooping parts, right?
Take off the knob (the shift knob), slide the boot off the top of the shifter, unfold the top some more, and put it all back together. That should do it. HPH
