shift boot swap
hey guys, im planning on swapping in the CR shift boot..my question is , do I also need to buy a new retaining ring to accomplish my swap?

No replacement needed.
The retaining ring is made of white plastic and has 4 locking points. It is kind of a bitch to get out without breaking a tab. Looking down on the ring you will see 12 raised ribs. Between 4 of these ribs you will see small diamonds. This is where the locking tabs are located so you will know what you are fighting. If you slip a very thin screwdriver (i.e. watchmakers or smallest flat head you have) at the diamond and push in (i.e toward center) you can disengage each of the four tabs sequentially. You can thank me later

P.S. If you bust it it is Honda Part Number 54107-S2A-003
