If your ECU is not receiving a signal from your coolant temp sensor, it inhibits VTEC b/c it defaults to "no". You plugged everything back in and it started to work because your ECU was able to determine that your coolant temp was above the threshold.
Using the other sensors isnt the problem. You just have to make sure those signals are still provided to the ECU.
Perfect example is my AFR wideband 02 sensor...it plugs into the sensor module (PLX) which then sends the wideband signal to the gauge controller and provides a narrowband output that is spliced back into the ECU AFR sensor input.

Using the other sensors isnt the problem. You just have to make sure those signals are still provided to the ECU.
Yeah it does. Other sensor has different resistors (coolant and oil especially). It will not match the voltage signal. Sensors has resistance.

If there was no way around that, you wouldn't see guys with aftermarket gauges

Look like you also have the 7 with S2000 ?
I used the stock ECU for durability and dependability.
I used the stock wet sump...again for dependability issue.
I installed the engine way back (pushed as much as I can).
I think supercharger will now fit in the front (just incase my plan change)
Installed the primary-secondary o2 sensors.
Everything in stock configuration. I don't think I need anymore power.
